Welcome to Westfield!

Rich in heritage but responding to modern development, Westfield has flourished into a city ripe with diversity.  Originally  founded in 1834 by Quakers moving from North Carolina, its roots are well-respected and celebrated still today, including those associated with the Civil War’s Underground Railroad.

A haven for new business, both large and small, Westfield’s economy is a successful mix of manufacturing, retailing, and other office and warehouse sites.

Just 18 miles north of Indianapolis and 8 miles north of I-465 at the junctions of US 31 and SR 32, Westfield is an easy commute to the entire metro area.

Projected job growth for the next 10 years is calculated at good and current unemployment figures are below the state average. Westfield has been experiencing a steady growth, making way for new business development outside the city center.

There are many residential communities that will appeal to a variety of life styles that include small single family homes, large custom homes, townhomes, golf villas, condominiums and apartments.  Nearly 75% of the population are homeowners, but rental units are available with monthly rents averaging just over $760.
Outstanding public schools and a nationally recognized technology academy, Westfield provides challenging educational opportunities that prepare students to become life-long learners and hard-working citizens. Students consistently rank high on standardized testing and are among the top students in the state. The district is rated as a Gold Medal School District by Expansion Management Magazine (making it one of the top 16 in the country). Westfield Washington School District is responsible for just over 5,800 students, with over 2,400 in elementary schools, 1,800 in middle schools and 1,600 in high school.
With its open spaces, trails and parks, enjoying nature comes, well, natural in Westfield! Morse Reservoir is nearby offering water sports of all kinds and the Buckeye Campground and Hillside Beach Club have facilities that include a campground, picnic area, swimming beach, water slide and fishing. Westfield also offers many adult and youth recreational opportunities including a championship golf course, league sports, ice rink and fitness centers.
