Fishers has enjoyed rapid growth throughout the past decade and is home to many corporations, small businesses and national chains. Unemployment has removed low and the 10 year projected business growth is encouraging.
Homes have appreciated steadily even throughout Fishers' building boom. With a median price of just over $206,000 and an average household income of $91,914, Fishers residents enjoy very affordable living - which has helped its population to increase by 600% in the past 10 years. The public school system in Fishers has repeatedly been ranked as one of the best. The high school belongs to the prestigious North Central Association of College and Secondary Schools and has also achieved significant successes in sports, music, arts, and other extracurricular activities. Recreation and leisure abound with nine parks, walking paths, several golf courses, community pools, a new state of the art YMCA, and a youth sports organization. Home to the nationally-recognized Conner Prairie Living History Museum, Fishers has a number of public parks, soccer fields, playgrounds, and an ice skating arena. Nearby, Geist and Morse Reservoirs offer water sports such as fishing, boating, and water-skiing.
